Page 2. BEFORE WE SHIP 9 problems we stop before your belt ships 1 Joining ends Ends left un-welded when the belt is joined on site. 2 Edge finish Welded or open ends, exactly as agreed on the drawing. 3 Full width Mesh reaches the drive; width measured at several points. 4 Rust protection Thin, even oil film on carbon steel, not an excess. 5 Belt on sprocket Sprocket pitch matched to the belt before quoting. 6 Sprocket teeth No black marks left from the polishing wheel. 7 Tooth edges Burrs removed from every tooth edge. 8 Plastic bore Bore checked; any scratch is reworked. 9 Plastic faces Faces checked for scratches; each plastic sprocket packed separately.
Page 3. WHAT BUYERS ASK The five questions buyers ask first Each answer in this file is a photo, a drawing or a measured value from a real order. Buyer question What we show you Pages Will the new belt match my old one? Your old sample measured; the first article measured against it. 6, 9, 10 Can it join the belt still in use? A splicing test: new belt joined to the buyer's old sample. 10 Will the sprockets fit the belt? Belt wrapped on the sprocket; sprocket measured to drawing. 23, 24 Will the batch match the approved sample? First-article and trial-production values before mass production. 9, 16, 20 Will carbon steel arrive straight and rust-free? Rolls on tube cores, oil film, inner wrapping and wooden cases. 12, 17, 21 How you can check: ask for the same photos and values for your own order before it ships.
Page 4. OUR PROCESS From your sample or drawing to a packed belt You see the belt before mass production starts, and again before it is packed. # Stage What we do What you receive or approve 1 Your input Old belt sample, photos or drawing; application and drive type. Our written questions 2 Measurement Pitch, spiral wire, cross rod and width measured on the sample. Measurement photos 3 Our drawing All values in mm and in. You approve the drawing 4 Trial or first article First piece measured; joined to your old belt if needed. First-article photos 5 Mass production Made to the approved drawing; edges and ends as specified. Progress photos 6 Final inspection 100% final inspection; pitch and width measured again. Inspection photos 7 Inner packing Rolled on a galvanized tube core, oiled and wrapped. Packing photos 8 Outer packing Wooden case, labels and documents. Shipping documents How you can check: every stage leaves a photo, a drawing or a measured value you can ask to see.
Page 5. PROJECT 1 Spain, Europe: a flattened-wire belt made from a worn sample The buyer's task: no drawing, only a rusted piece of the old belt, and the new belt must join the old one. REPLACEMENT PROJECT Buyer Belt distributor, replacing a belt for its customer. Belt Carbon steel flattened-wire balanced weave belt, width 3400 mm (133.86 in); flat spiral wire 3 × 1.6 mm (0.12 × 0.06 in); straight cross rod 3.0 mm (0.12 in); spiral pitch 8 mm (0.31 in); rod pitch 16 mm (0.63 in). Rule A worn dimension is not the original design: every value was confirmed with the buyer on our drawing. Buyer's old sample Spiral pitch measured on the sample
Page 6. PROJECT 1 · YOUR SAMPLE The old sample, measured value by value The buyer's concern: a new belt built on guesses. What we measured Spiral pitch, rod pitch and cross rod on the buyer's rusted sample; the photos went back to the buyer with our questions. Spiral pitch Rod pitch Cross rod How you can check: send a short section of your old belt; we return the measurement photos with our drawing.
Page 7. PROJECT 1 · OUR DRAWING Our drawing, made from the sample The buyer's concern: values that nobody wrote down. Drawn Width and loop count, flat wire size, cross rod, spiral pitch and rod pitch. Shared The drawing went to the buyer together with the measurement photos of the sample. Our drawing for this belt How you can check: ask for our drawing of your belt before any production starts.
Page 8. PROJECT 1 · TRIAL Wire flattened first, then coiled The buyer's concern: a flat wire that is not the size of the original. Process Round wire flattened and measured before coiling into spirals; the first coiled section was checked against the sample. Flat wire measured Flat wire measured First coiled section How you can check: ask for the wire measurement photos of your belt.
Page 9. PROJECT 1 · FIRST ARTICLE First article measured before mass production The buyer's concern: a new belt that looks right but does not match the old one. Measured Spiral pitch and full width on the first production piece; the photos went to the buyer before mass production. Spiral pitch 8.00 mm Width 3400 mm How you can check: first-article photos are sent with the measured values for your confirmation.
Page 10. PROJECT 1 · NEW JOINED TO OLD Splicing test: the new belt joined to the old one The buyer's concern: a new belt that will not connect to the belt still in use. What we did Joined the new belt to the buyer's old sample in the workshop and filmed it for the buyer. An extra short section with un-welded ends was supplied for joining on site. Old sample (brown) beside the new belt Old sample joined to the new belt How you can check: if your new belt must join an existing one, send a sample; we film a splicing test before shipment.
Page 11. PROJECT 1 · FINAL INSPECTION Measured again after rolling The buyer's concern: dimensions change between inspection and shipment. Checked Spiral pitch and width measured again on the rolled, wrapped belt before the case was closed. Spiral pitch re-checked after wrapping Width re-checked on the roll How you can check: ask for final-inspection photos of your belt before it is packed.
Page 12. PROJECT 1 · PACKING Inner and outer packing for a wide belt The buyer's concern: a 3.4 m wide belt bent or rusted in transit. Inner Rolled on galvanized tube cores, rust-protection oil, wrapped. Outer Long wooden cases, strapped (labels blurred). Inner: tube core Inner: rolls in the case Outer: long wooden cases How you can check: packing photos are sent before shipment.
Page 13. PROJECT 2 Spain, Europe: a carbon steel belt for a bread line The buyer's task: replace a bread-line belt when the first data sent were incomplete. REPLACEMENT PROJECT Buyer Belt distributor; the belt runs on a bread line. Belt Carbon steel balanced weave belt, width 1650 mm (64.96 in); spiral wire 1.0 mm (0.04 in); straight cross rod 2.0 mm (0.08 in); spiral pitch 2.5 mm (0.10 in); rod pitch 9 mm (0.35 in); clinched edge. Quantity 64 m (210 ft), by sea. Reordered to the same drawing. Belt surface Clinched edge
Page 14. PROJECT 2 · YOUR INPUT Questions settled before the sample was made The buyer's concern: hidden assumptions in a quotation. Each point was answered in writing before sampling. Point raised What happened Application We asked where the belt runs. The buyer confirmed a bread line. Wire size From the buyer's photos the wire looked heavier than the data sent; we asked the buyer to confirm before quoting. Material The enquiry started in AISI 304; the buyer chose carbon steel for the sample and the order. Pitch The buyer asked for a smaller pitch; we said in advance which pitch could and could not be made. Sample A 300 mm (11.81 in) wide sample was made and approved before the belt order. How you can check: these exchanges are kept with the order file; agreed values go onto the drawing.
Page 15. PROJECT 2 · OUR DRAWING One drawing for the first order and the reorder The buyer's concern: a reorder that is not the same belt. Drawn Width, spiral wire, straight cross rod, spiral pitch, rod pitch and clinched edge. Reorder Made to the same drawing, with a trial piece and first-article photos again before production. Our drawing for this belt How you can check: quote your previous order; we check the new belt against the same drawing.
